About the Planning Lead Role
The Planning Lead will be responsible for managing the overall planning and scheduling activities of the project. The role requires a professional who can effectively coordinate with multiple departments and ensure that project activities remain aligned with approved schedules, resources and contractual requirements.
The position is particularly suitable for candidates who have handled large-scale railway siding, infrastructure or BOQ-based construction projects and understand project monitoring, progress measurement and quantity-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
The selected professional will be responsible for:
- Managing overall project planning and scheduling for BOQ-based railway siding works.
- Developing and maintaining baseline project programmes and execution schedules.
- Preparing detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and monitoring project milestones.
- Coordinating with engineering, construction, procurement, commercial and client teams.
- Tracking project progress against planned schedules and identifying delays.
- Preparing MIS reports, progress reports, S-curves, dashboards and planning updates.
- Monitoring BOQ quantities, productivity and resource deployment.
- Supporting quantity measurement and billing coordination.
- Identifying critical activities, project risks and potential delays.
- Developing recovery and mitigation plans whenever project progress falls behind schedule.
- Providing strategic planning inputs to the Project Head to support timely project completion.
- Ensuring effective coordination between project planning and QS functions.
Required Skills and Expertise
Candidates applying for this position should have strong knowledge of construction project planning and project controls. Experience in railway infrastructure projects will be essential for this role.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
Educational Qualification:
B.Tech / Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum 10+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably involving large infrastructure or railway construction projects.
Project Experience:
Candidates must have relevant railway project experience, particularly in planning, scheduling, railway siding works or similar infrastructure projects.
Preferred Technical Exposure:
Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP, project scheduling, BOQ management, progress monitoring, MIS reporting and quantity/billing coordination.
Location
The position is based at Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh and is associated with a major railway infrastructure project connected to a 2×800 MW Thermal Power Project.
